“[Anvl] puts our technology in the hands of the worker for the first time and it takes them to the places they need to go in order to satisfy corporate demand for data and increase safety and communication. That is what makes us really special”
Tell me a little more about what you do in your role as a Sales Executive at Anvl.
I am responsible for bringing new logos into the business, but there is a lot that goes into that. I do everything from cold calling, manual email campaigns, handling discovery meetings, demos for customers, and handling solution design meetings in partnership with Cody and Jill. I seek to find commonalities and parallels to start partnerships and sell Anvl.
What inspires you about your daily work?
I have two goals that inspire me daily. One goal of mine is to come back into sales leadership – right now, I am an individual contributor, but every day is one building block to creating a sales team at Anvl. The type of work that we do at Anvl also inspires me. We are doing something that increases safety and reduces risks and accidents with a people-focused approach. We also assist with digital transformation within businesses which is pretty unique.
What would you say is the most rewarding part of your role?
The most rewarding part of having a role at a startup company is seeing something that’s gone from an idea to an actual product. I am able to talk to people and help them understand why Anvl’s solution is something that they need in their business.
What do you think sets Anvl apart? What makes Anvl unique?
We have a focus on frontline workers which currently sets us apart, but that will change as we continue to grow and connect to workers of other industries. We are focused on safety reporting from the frontline and now we are expanding into quality and operations. What also sets us apart is our solution provides feedback in real-time which is received well by our customers – its icing on the cake. We are unique because our solution is a guided experience; we are not just a digital form company. We put our technology in the hands of the worker for the first time and it takes them to the places they need to go in order to satisfy corporate demand for data and increase safety and communication. That is what makes us really special.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
People would be surprised to know that I barefoot water ski, and that I am also an eagle scout!
What accomplishment, personal and/or professional are you most proud of?
My proudest personal achievement is being a husband and a father.
What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?
I really enjoy doing any water sport with my family – wake surfing, wakeboarding, swimming. Our family enjoys mostly outdoor stuff and staying active. We usually travel to Morse Reservoir in Indiana. Another hobby of mine is going destination boating, where you start in one place on a river and travel to different destinations.
During your time at Anvl, what is the most important thing you have learned?
The most important thing I have learned at Anvl is being willing to put forth 100% to get deals across the line. Especially with our world right now, I have also learned how to be able to adapt to different circumstances and knowing to swallow pride in order to accomplish what needs to get done.
What is one thing that has surprised you about working for Anvl?
I am surprised by not only the ability to change, but also the speed at which we are able to adapt to different circumstances. Our company has transformed from an idea that was safety focused, but now also includes solutions geared toward quality and operational focuses. This expansion has allowed us to truly be a one-of-a-kind solution that you really cannot get anywhere else.
Who do you look to as a role model/mentor and why?
I have a potpourri of mentors, so it is hard to pick just one. They are all a blend of strong sales leadership from over the years, as well as operational leadership that think and act different than I do. Even just as a seller, being able to understand the operations side of business is important. The reason why I look to all of these people is because their mentality is “We can do better.” There is zero complacency and they strive to do better. That mindset is what drives a startup environment.
