Anvl is unique in two ways: (1) We are product-based. Our app is built for the user first, and not for any other interest. Our users who utilize the app can see that it is solely designed for them, and it is better than any legacy software that is retroactively put on a mobile device. Our software is purpose-built for our users. And (2) The solutions we build also set us apart. We solve problems proactively and create an outcome that is best for our customers.

Tell me a little more about what you do in your role as the Customer Success Manager at Anvl.

As Anvl’s Customer Success Manager, I am mainly focused on continued success for our customers and always striving to keep their best interest in mind. I am currently working on enterprise implementations, presales deals with Jim, work with our product and engineering teams, and consulting new and existing customers on how our solution works best for them.

What inspires you about your daily work?

There are two big things that inspire me: (1) I really believe in what we are doing here at Anvl. I have a background of working in manufacturing, so I am passionate about our frontline users in particular. (2) I have a growth mindset, so in my role specifically, I learn something new every day. There is lots of opportunity to learn and grow, and I feel I can always push myself intellectually.

What would you say is the most rewarding part of your role?

I really love the opportunity of going onsite for our customers. I always believe that nothing innovative happens in your cubicle- you have to go out and solve the problems firsthand. This is really applicable for a software company and it’s the best way for me to learn as well. I get to see where our software is used and hear users’ feedback. Hearing one of our users talk about Anvl’s app and how much they love it is really rewarding for me.

What do you think sets Anvl apart? What makes Anvl unique?

Anvl is unique in two ways: (1) We are product-based. Our app is built for the user first, and not for any other interest. Our users who utilize the app can see that it is solely designed for them, and it is better than any legacy software that is retroactively put on a mobile device. Our software is purpose-built for our users. And (2) The solutions we build also set us apart. We solve problems proactively and create an outcome that is best for our customers.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I hope to spend a part of my career living abroad! I am very globally minded, and I think I could really benefit by learning and growing my career in other places. I went on a plane for the first time when I was 18, and now I average about visiting two countries a year. I hope to start traveling again soon when it is safe!

What accomplishment, personal and/or professional are you most proud of?

I am always proud to be a first-generation college student. it is nice to reflect on that and see how far I have been able to develop my career, while still knowing the best is yet to come.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?

I am a very competitive person, so I am always challenging myself to pursue competitive environments. I was an athlete in college, and over the last few years I have channeled that competitive edge into running. As I mentioned, I love to travel, and I will be competing in the Berlin marathon next year! Without having the ability to travel currently, I have mostly focused on hiking, camping, and running outside to enjoy the beauty of the Midwest.

During your time at Anvl, what is the most important thing you have learned?

I have been able to learn to take a pause and separate myself from the mindset of “this is how things used to work” and considering more on the outcomes for our customers first and foremost. I have learned so much about solving new, novel problems, and by starting there, I have been able to identify the outcome we want for the customer and working back from there.

What is one thing that has surprised you about working for Anvl?

I really enjoy the chemistry of the Anvl team. We all have great working relationships with one another and are able to get work done collaboratively and effectively.

Who do you look to as a role model/mentor and why?

I have a few personal mentors from the early few years of my career that I reach out to from time to time for advice. In terms of role models, I am particularly inspired by those who achieved more with less resources, talent, etc. This can vary from history, politics, sports, etc. but I love a good “rags to riches” story.

What Cody’s coworkers have to say about him:

“Cody has an amazing blend of excellent interpersonal skills and technical savviness. He is able to close the divide between the people who struggle with using an application, and the people who build the application. Cody’s work life lifts Insights and Workforce above the other solutions out there. We easily beat large corporate solutions out there, and with Cody we also stand above other start-ups”

“Cody gives new meaning to be a team player. he is always ready to jump in as needed, without complaint. He has a seriously impressive work ethic and will put in the time needed- whether 6am or burning the midnight oil- to get the job done. He is super diligent and creative at building solutions for our customers. I truly believe that our customers get more value than they paid for and a big part of that is due to Cody’s efforts.”

“Cody is awesome! He is tireless on his quest to ensure customers have everything they need to be successful with Anvl.”

“When Cody joined the Anvl team, he quickly got our mission and value prop and was not only extremely talented, but also passionate about providing customers with a great experience. That’s the combination of skills and character we look for to ensure we help our customers be successful.”
